Overview
In this project, we were given the reins to design a visually captivating and informative infographic on a topic of our passion. This freedom to explore and choose not only the subject matter but also the visual style was a refreshing departure from my previous projects, which often adhered to specific design briefs.
Inspiration
My inspiration stemmed from a personal design exploration with graffiti text treatments. I have always liked graffiti art and was captivated by its ability to convey bold messages through its visually distinct style. I saw an opportunity to bridge the gap between street art and information design, and decided to make my infographic about the history of graffiti and used this type treatment to start it.

Research and Design Process
Presenting the history of graffiti in a visually captivating and informative manner posed a unique challenge for me. I tackled this by employing insightful research to gather comprehensive data and uncover hidden stories. Subsequently, I devised a strategic layout that balanced information density with visual aesthetics. To further enhance the layout, I conceptualized and designed distinctive graffiti-inspired icons to visually reinforce the narrative.
First Iteration and Critique
My initial iteration laid the groundwork with its icons and thoughtfully structured layouts. However, valuable feedback highlighted the need for text streamlining and enhanced cohesion. In response, I implemented targeted editing, summarizing key information while introducing chronological dates to foster a clear narrative flow. This iteration also saw deliberate efforts to alleviate the impact of negative space, fostering a more balanced and visually engaging experience.
